VMware is offering enterprise customers a new volume purchase plan for software license buys in excess of $250,000, adding to an existing, similar, tiered program it offers for commercial customers. And the channel is playing a major role in this new scheme -- good news for The VAR Guy.

Here's one for the Spy vs. Spy crowd: Cisco has cut ties with Chinese firm ZTE after confirmed reports that it sold networking equipment into Iran. Less nefarious is former Cisco Global Partner Marketing exec Amanda Jobbins' move to Sage Group, where she'll take the CMO seat.

HP's turnaround isn't moving as quickly as many hoped, but its channel leaders are assuring partners the company has a sound long-term strategy in place. Will it be enough to keep its channel partners from finding greener pastures elsewhere?
