F5 Networks: On the heels of enhancements to its application delivery controller line including support for the SPDY web protocol, F5 has  unveiled a new Technical Certification Program that helps define and measure the skills required for today’s IT complexities. According to the company, the program focuses on F5 products and technology as well as the underlying application delivery expertise required to design, deploy and manage solutions in complex application delivery networking environments -- which, the company  noted, often include multiple vendors’ solutions.

Candidates can begin registering for the F5 Technical Certification Program beginning in the third quarter of calendar year 2012 through the Pearson Credential Manager. The Credential Management System will notify registered individuals of exam availability. Testing will be available through Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide.

Xsigo: Xsigo Systems, which plays in the data center fabric deployment and technology space, revamped and enhanced its partner program to recognize and support its expanding network of global resellers. The Xsigo Connections Partner Program offers multiple levels of participation and was designed to further enable resellers that are fielding growing interest and demand among virtualization experts and network administrators.

According to the company, the Xsigo Connections Partner Program features:
  • Improved margin opportunities
  • New sales incentive programs
  • Enhanced training, including sales and technical accreditations
  • Certifications in whiteboard selling
  • Increased investment in demand generation

TP-LINK: Its name may not be of the household variety, but TP-LINK is a global manufacturer of SOHO networking products and the company purports to be a leading provider of WLAN and Broadband CPE devices. To help it break out beyond the consumer market, TP-LINK has created a VAR Program to gain mind share among VARs that serve small-business customers.

TP-LINK's VAR Program has three tiers -- Silver, Gold and Platinum -- with quarterly purchase thresholds of less than $2,000, between $2,000 and $5,000 and more than $5,000, respectively. Among the features and benefits:
  • 5 percent front-end discount for each SKU purchased
  • Monthly instant rebates (available for some SKUs)
  • Additional 20 percent demo discount
  • Special price support for large-quantity orders
  • Free marketing materials available upon request
