While The Grid is a familiar offering to most partners, the other offerings are somewhat newer to most partners.
- Partner Marketing Bureau is for all partners. One of their core functions is to help partners determine which VMware campaigns are best for them, and even help them execute if necessary, said Eades.
- Website in a Box allows partners to leverage VMware's content, in a filtered manner, on their websites.
- And Sales Bytes allows partners to get up to speed on specific VMware technologies, using easy-to-digest content form the web.
For VMware, the tools mentioned above reinforce a key theme for the channel-focused company: Even as VMware continues to work with larger VARs to deploy software-defined data centers (SDDC), the company continues to accelerate its work with smaller VARs that serve SMB customers.
