VMware (NYSE: VMW) has launched a Cloud Applications Marketplace, which provides partners and customers with downloadable application blueprints, reference architectures and other guidance for deploying public or private cloud solutions. The marketplace is part of VMware's broader vCloud Suite initiative, which allows partners to build and managed cloud infrastructure.

VMware also announced the general release of VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.6 and VMware vFabric Application Director 5.0.Both releases are part of VMware vCloud Suite 5.1, which integrates VMware’s virtualization, cloud infrastructure and management portfolio into a single SKU.

VMware first announced most of the above-noted moves during VMworld 2012 in August. According to the software company:

  • VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.6 applies patented analytics to integrated performance, capacity and configuration management for cloud infrastructure.
  • VMware vFabric Application Director 5.0 eases multi-tier application deployments to any cloud through easy-to-create application blueprints featuring standardized, pre-approved OS and middleware components, VMware claims.
