5 IT stories we wish we had time to write this week, but didn't.
No matter what, there are always more interesting than there is time to write them all, and this week was no exception. Here are five stories that we wish we had more time to write about in detail, but didn't.
Malwarebyes Debuts EDR Solution: Threat protection provider Malwarebytes launched a new platform this week that is expected to help businesses detect endpoint threats quickly and remediate them before information can be jeopardized, according to the announcement.
The platform, called Malwarebytes Breach Remediation, was designed specifically for companies looking to speed up their remote endpoint detection and remediation processes. The platform is available now beginning at $29.99 either directly from the company or through its reseller network.
“Current malware remediation involves an incident responder running to each computer to put out malware fires, one at a time,” said Marcin Kleczynski, CEO of Malwarebytes. “This insufficient way of ‘solving’ the issue hasn’t evolved for decades. Now, Malwarebytes and our integration partners are creating an automated fire sprinkler system that enables the whole enterprise to put out advanced malware fires as they appear across thousands of endpoints.”
Carousel Industries Names New Head of Managed Services: Carousel Industries has named Rich Montefusco as vice president of Managed Services, responsible for fostering new sales opportunities and spearheading the company’s Managed Services practice strategy, according to the announcement.
“Organizations are demanding a new model where they consume IT-as-a-Service,” says Montefusco. “By combining cloud deployment options with robust service offerings, Carousel enables customers to utilize technology in the way most effective for their business. We are passionate about providing flexible solutions that help our customers reach optimum efficiency and agility.”
CloudPassage Hires Two Sales Executives: Cloud security provider CloudPassage has named Tim Colby as vice president of channel sales, with Dan Brigati named to the role of vice president of federal sales, according to a recent announcement. The two men bring a combined 50 years of experience in the IT channel to their new roles and will report to Mark Stephenson, CloudPassage’s executive vice president.
“With CloudPassage’s agile security platform, we are addressing a giant need in the IT industry,” said Colby. “Smart integrators, VARs and MSSPs are investing in platforms like CloudPassage Halo to gain a competitive edge in the emerging security services market. Halo enables our partners to provide comprehensive, high-quality infrastructure security that is delivered in a flexible, automated model and fully integrates with existing tools.”
Intelisys Teams with NTT Com: Intelisys can now distribute all of NTT Com’s domestic and international ICT services to its partner community through a new agreement with NTT Americas. Intelisys is also now a member of the NTT Americas Global Solutions Channel Partner Program, according to the press release.
The deal, which was actually struck in September, was officially announced this week. Representatives from both companies are expected to discuss the partnership in more detail next month during the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.
“What attracted us to Intelisys was their market presence, brand and industry depth, as well as the training, growth and retention of their Sales Partner community,” said Rob Westervelt, NTT America vice president and general manager of Indirect Global Solutions. “Initial results have been promising, and while it’s still early days, we expect Intelisys to be among our top selling partners.”
CloudLock and FireEye Team on Cloud Security: Cloud security providers CloudLock and FireEye have combined the CloudLock Security Fabric with the FireEye Threat Analytics Platform to provide customers with "orchestrated security incident intelligence and reporting capabilities", according to a recent announcement.
CloudLock has also joined the FireEye Cyber Security Coalition.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to join forces with such a highly-respected authority on cyberthreats to address these emerging risks," said Manolo Gonzalez, head of Alliance Partner Ecosystem at CloudLock. "We look forward to enhancing the impact of our collective cybersecurity expertise for our customers across the globe and expanding our relationship with FireEye in the areas of malware prevention and threat intelligence.”
