LabTech founder Matt Nachtrab has been named chief executive officer at eFolder, about six months after he joined the cloud backup vendor to serve as its chief strategy officer, the company said today.

Nachtrab orchestrated the sale of his remote monitoring and management (RMM) company to ConnectWise, which has since renamed the product ConnectWise Automate.

Dr. Kevin Hoffman, founder of eFolder and the company’s previous joint CEO and chief technology officer, will carry the title of founder and CTO.

eFolder specializes in data protection technologies, including Replibit for backup and disaster recovery, Anchor for file sync and sharing, and Cloudfinder for backup, search, and eDiscovery for Office 365 and other SaaS services, the company said. 

Nachtrab, who stepped down last year from his role as chief operating officer at ConnectWise, also maintains ownership in Nemsys, the Toledo, Ohio, managed services provider he first launched in 1999.

“As an MSP, you will not regret performing an evaluation of the current version of these products for your offerings,” Nachtrab said in the statement. 

“Kevin is the most brilliant technology leader I have worked with, and now he can focus on eFolder technology,” the new CEO went on. “This focus will result in disrupting innovation at eFolder and result in significant profitability for the MSPs that choose eFolder.” 

Nachtrab’s ascension comes after it became clear he was a good fit for the culture, eFolder’s founder said.
