LANDESK has acquired AppSense in an effort to increase its portfolio of Unified Endpoint Management solutions for both physical and virtual devices.
LANDESK announced it has acquired secure user environment management solution provider AppSense for an undisclosed sum.
The IT solution provider announced the details of its acquisition on Monday, citing a desire to increase its portfolio of Unified Endpoint Management solutions to both physical and virtual devices.
LANDESK is also expected to benefit from the addition of advanced endpoint protection capabilities as well as new operational security capabilities, according to the announcement.
AppSense said its solutions utilize virtualization to bridge the gap between physical, virtual and cloud-delivered desktops. The company, which was formed in 1999, plays strongly in vertical markets such as healthcare, banking and finance.
“Our goal with AppSense has been to provide the best user experience while enhancing the security and manageability of virtual and physical endpoints,” said Scott Arnold, president and CEO of AppSense, in a statement. “Joining forces with LANDESK makes strategic sense. We are excited to provide our customers and partners with the option for a total endpoint management strategy from a single vendor.”
LANDESK does not plan to make any changes to either of the businesses or their subsequent partner programs, according to a company spokesperson.
"The acquisition is expected to create a host of new opportunities for employees, partners and customers of both AppSense and LANDESK," said the spokesperson in an email. "There is limited overlap in solutions, customers or partners."
