Distributor Westcon’s Comstor business, its Cisco Systems (CSCO)-centric unit, has signed a distribution agreement with PeakColo to supply the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provider’s services to its channel partners.

Westcon said the agreement enables its channel partners in North America to access Cisco-powered cloud services and brand the offerings to customers as their own. PeakColo said the distributor’s reseller network will speed to market its cloud services and gain it access to coveted Cisco channel partners.

Indeed, under terms of the deal, Westcon channel partners can sell cloud-enabled services on top of PeakColo’s Flexpod-based IaaS infrastructure—founded on Cisco’s Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco’s Nexus switching and NetApp (NTAP) storage. The platform supplies a vehicle for channel partners to offer new cloud-enabled services, spanning hybrid clouds, private/public clouds, storage/disaster recovery/backup-as-a-service, and virtual desktop, said Geoff Fancher, Comstor U.S. senior vice president.

“Our partners are focused on providing innovative and cost-effective cloud solutions for their customers, and the Cisco-Powered PeakColo IaaS service is such a solution,” he said. “As a premier service provider, Peak ensures resellers can immediately capture new business opportunities leveraging the power of cloud technology.”

Inasmuch as PeakColo works under a channel-only model, partners aren’t competing with the cloud service provider for customers, said Luke Norris, PeakColo founder and chief executive.

“As the market’s only dedicated offering for the channel, our single goal is to help partners succeed by facilitating high-performance and scalable cloud experiences for their customers,” he said. “Clearly one of the premier distributors in the data center and cloud space, Westcon is a great win for us, opening new doors to tap into some of the world’s top Cisco-dedicated resellers.”

As for Cisco, the third leg of this triangular agreement, the deal will help expand FlexPod’s reach, said Andrew Sage, Cisco Americas Distribution vice president.

“This agreement aligns with Cisco’s strategy to help our ecosystem of channel partners collaborate to offer customers Cisco-powered cloud services built on proven technologies, such as the pre-validated FlexPod solution,” he said. “In collaborating with industry leaders like PeakColo and Comstor, Cisco is fueling channel partners’ ability to capture new revenue opportunities and deliver a more powerful cloud value proposition to customers.”

Last month, PeakColo signed a similar agreement with Avnet’s (AVT) Technology Solutions group.
