PeakColo, an enterprise-class IaaS cloud service provider for channel partners, has partnered with data center services provider NYI, to expand its VMware (NYSE: VMW) vCloud-based services platform into the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area.

PeakColo’s channel partners white label its cloud services as their own, enabling them to sell under their own brand at minimal expense and making it easier to generate profit from the cloud marketplace. PeakColo offers a cloud environment that contains tens of thousands of virtual machines and multiple petabytes of storage for public, private, hybrid and disaster recovery solutions.

NYI, headquartered in lower Manhattan, supplies core services such as colocation and dedicated servers, cloud computing and managed services, disaster recovery and business continuity planning. The company serves the media, financial services, healthcare, law, fashion, architecture, life sciences and real estate industries.

With the footprint expansion, PeakColo’s cloud offerings can be accessed from data centers in Chicago, Denver, London, New York, New Jersey and Seattle.

“Driving value, flexibility and efficiencies within our customer solutions is important to NYI,” said Phillip Koblence, NYI operations vice president. “PeakColo’s cloud program is a perfect fit as it allows us to further customize our customer deployments and deliver the high-quality support they are accustomed to receiving from our service teams.”

Luke Norris, PeakColo chief executive and founder, said that adding NYI's data centers in New York and New Jersey to PeakColo's cloud footprint strengthens the company's cloud architecture, "ultimately lowering our cloud's overall latency, and making PeakColo one of the fastest clouds in the marketplace. With this expanded presence, we can further deliver world-class services coast to coast and allow our channel partners to maximize their profitability with full cloud economies of scale.”

Under PeakColo’s fully channel-centric model, agents, VARs and system integrators receive technical support, training and competitive commission structures.
