Welcome to Distribution Watch, our weekly look at what’s going on in the distribution space. This week we’ve got news from D&H Distributing and Jenne Inc., so grab your looking glasses and let's get to it.

D&H: The computer products and consumer electronics distributor will hold its Mid-Atlantic Fall 2013 Technology Show on Oct. 30 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Penn. More than 125 vendors are slated to participate including Cisco Systems, Intel, Microsoft, HP, Lenovo, Cloud Nation, Acer, AMD, ASUS, Creative, D-Link, Epson, Kaspersky Lab, NVIDIA, Ricoh, Samsung, Toshiba, WatchGuard and Western Digital.

Among the highlights of the show, Intel and Microsoft plan to present a 40 foot-by-40 foot “Touch Experience Lounge,” which will serve as a hub in the center of the exhibit floor. This feature is an extension of Intel’s ongoing “Experience Tour,” visiting 14 North American cities this fall, designed to help attendees become more familiar with the devices, applications and capabilities facilitated by a touch-based paradigm. The exhibit will introduce business drivers and real-world usage scenarios at a comprehensive “device bar,” including assorted Microsoft Windows 8 models, which will teach resellers how such items can best be incorporated into their customers’ businesses.

The D&H Solutions booth will spotlight services offered through D&H’s Solutions Web Page and show clips from more than 40 videos created by the D&H Solutions Specialist Team on topics such as server builds, power protection, software solutions and more.

In addition, D&H Cares, the distributor’s employee-run charitable foundation, will conduct a raffle to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA. Attendees can enter by donating either $5 or a non-perishable food item, and the winner will receive a 50-inch display television.

One attendee at each seminar will have the chance to win a Case Logic 21-inch upright roller, and all attendees have the chance to win a Lenovo ThinkPad Twist convertible Ultrabook.  Resellers will receive special, show-day-only pricing on orders taken at the show.

Jenne: The networking and communications distributor plans to roll out a new marketing portal for resellers Oct. 28, designed to help them generate leads and market their business professionally to end user customers. Jenne Marketing Pro (JMP) is an online marketing portal featuring emails, direct mailers, pURL campaigns and more.

Working with and on behalf of the manufacturers whose products Jenne distributes, Jenne has created turnkey marketing campaigns resellers can customize with their logo and contact information. Data lists can be uploaded into JMP or a reseller can choose to shop for and purchase a list through the portal. Once a reseller has customized the campaign, it can proceed to checkout and the campaign is executed on its behalf. Reports are accessible by the reseller in real-time so it can check the status of its campaign, including open rates and click-throughs for email and pURL campaigns.

JMP also will be offering pURL campaigns, personalized URLs used in conjunction with a direct mailer that presents a customer or prospect with a highly customized and targeted campaign. Not only is the direct mailer personalized, but the call-to-action incentive drives the prospect to a web address, which also is personalized with the prospect’s name.

Jenne is hosting a free webinar Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. for resellers interested in learning more about Jenne Marketing Pro. Resellers may register for the webinar here.

And that’s Distribution Watch for this week. Check us out again next week and see what we’re looking at. Until then, stay safe.
