This week's Distribution Watch features the latest news from our friends at D&H Distributing, ScanSource and Lifeboat Distribution.
Welcome back to Distribution Watch, and happy Friday, everyone! It may not be a particularly notable Friday in terms of holidays, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be one for the record books. We’re helping you usher in a weekend full of fun with the latest news from D&H Distributing, ScanSource Communications and Lifeboat Distribution.
D&H: MakerBot has signed a distribution agreement with D&H that will allow the Pennsylvania-based disty to carry the company’s full line of 3D printers and scanners in the United States.
MakerBot chose D&H due to its experience and reach with resellers in the education, government and healthcare verticals, particularly the K-12 market, according to the announcement. The company’s portfolio will be integrated with D&H’s existing education vertical offerings, which includes online resources and educational sessions through its Solutions Lab Training Center.
“We’re excited to partner with D&H to help expand the availability of MakerBot 3D printers and scanners in areas such as education, medical and health care, which we at MakerBot see as crucial for the growth of the 3D printing market,” said Mark Schulze, general manager of the Americas and Emerging Markets for MakerBot, in a statement. “We’re especially thrilled about D&H’s strength in the education vertical. Just as it was for computers in the 1980s, we see educational use of 3D printers as an important catalyst for the broader adoption of the technology.”
ScanSource: Unified communications audio solution provider Revolabs announced it has partnered with ScanSource Communications to distribute the company’s portfolio of telephony products in Canada.
ScanSource partners will have access to all of RevoLabs telephony products, including its Xtag USB wireless microphone system and conference phones.
"As Revolabs' largest global distributor, it was a natural choice to select ScanSource to help us tap into these vertical markets with our new line of UC and collaboration solutions," said Curtiss Singleton, Revolabs director of Sales for the Americas. "Whether it's in an executive office, an intimate huddle room, or medium- to large-sized boardroom, Revolabs' flexible UC solutions provide unparalleled audio performance for successful communication in any collaborative environment. With ScanSource as our partner, we are confident that we can convey that message to the Canadian market."
Lifeboat Distribution: Lifeboat announced a new partnership with cloud-delivered network security provider OpenDNS to distribute the company’s services to its North American resellers, including the Umbrella cloud security service.
Lifeboat plans to promote OpenDNS’ solutions alongside its line card of security software and appliances, according to the announcement.
“We have invested in making our award-winning network security service quick for our partners to deploy, easy for them to manage and effective at providing security for their customers' networks," said Jeff Samuels, chief marketing officer at OpenDNS. "A strong solution provider channel is one of the most effective ways to reach an even wider audience of prospective customers. As our principal North American distributor, Lifeboat Distribution will help us recruit a network of resellers and managed service providers that can reach a whole new set of customers."
That’s all for now, so get out there and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Until then, keep on distributing.
