In some IT circles, Novell is best known for its SUSE Linux strategy. But keep a watchful eye on the company's WorkloadIQ strategy. Novell claims WorkloadIQ enables VARs and customers to build, secure, manage and measure workloads across physical, virtual and cloud environments.

If Wagner has his say, Novell Sentinel Log Manager 1.1 will be a key tool within that broader WorkloadIQ effort.
