Logic-based automation balanced with measured user interaction are the main selling points Attunity is deploying to promote Maestro 2.0, the Big Data management and distribution platform it released this week.

According to the company, the new Maestro release "orchestrates and automates complex, multi-stage IT processes and data flows into simple-to-use, workflow 'composition' templates." It also offers "rules-driven process controls that include operator approval, as well as event-based processes, to control execution of these compositions."

Put together, Attunity said, automation resources and tools assuring user interaction make Big Data operations more efficient and productive.

Attunity hopes the new version of its Big Data software will prove popular among enterprises seeking better workload scheduling and automation, which a June 2014 IDC report identified as a $3.82 billion market in 2013. The report authors expect that market to expand to $5.7 billion by 2018 as data grows in scale and businesses demand better optimization tools.
